.... I have elected to renew the registration for my car, and intend on keeping it for at least another year. It’s paid for, it’s reliable, it’s enjoyable, it’s a known asset. Selling to save a few pennies on gas in a less-enjoyable car doesn’t pan out when you d o the math. In the same breath for obvious reasons, a Land Cruiser is *definitely* not in the cards for the near future.

Career-wise, I anticipate it will not be a lucrative year for me, regardless of the severity of the potential ruh-ruh-ruhhhhhh— “economic flattening.” My decision to not buy a car this year also turned out to be a good one.

I anticipate actual bigly big decisions before the end of the year that are Beyond Oppo, but the fleet remaining unchanged is just one less thing to worry about.

I think that makes a lot of sense. Good luck in your bigly pondering and bigly decisions.

I never realized the commit ment of registration. I mean, I know I’ll probably still have the same car, but it’s the potential which is why I only ever pay three months at a time.

Yeah, it’s annual or bust here. Registration used to be relatively cheap (under 50 bucks  when I had my first Tercel). Pretty sure I paid $170.00 this year on this car alone.

Ours is much more expensive due to the fact that my registration is also insurance.

I guess it depends on the state. In Wisconsin once you’ve boughrthe car you just pay for the license plate once a year. It’s like 70-200 bucks depending on the type of vehicle/plate. However you own  that plate so if you get a different car you just pay like a 70 dollar transfer fee.
